A handful of Valley will participate in the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches Senior All-Star Games Saturday at Grace Christian School in Anchorage.
Colony’s Hallie Clark, Tonya Karpow, Ashlynn Waggoner and Ally Shelley will play in the 3A/4A girls all-star game. Colony’s Ridge Spencer and Palmer’s Logan McCann are part of the 3A/4A boys game. Susitna Valley’s Miles Osmond will play in the 1A/2A boys game.
Action begins Saturday at 2 p.m. with the 1A/2A girls game. The 1A/2A boys game follows at 3:30 p.m. The 3A/4A girls and boys all-star games are slated for 5:30 and 7 p.m. that evening.
The AABC will also induct new members of its hall of fame. The 2025 class includes former Colony High girls basketball standout Leah Magner and Mat-Su photographer and Frontiersman contributor Bruce Eggleston of matsusports.net.
Former Kake coach Dwayne Davies, Nikiski coach Reid Kornstad, former Cordova coach Virginia Floyd Anderson, former Service boys standout and Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year Jeff Lentfer and official Carl Smith.
The new members will be recognized during halftime of the 3A/4A girls game.
