A trio of Valley athletes won three individual events each during the Region III Championships track and field meet in Homer.
Colony senior Trevor Jamison, Colony junior Ella Hopkins and Redington senior Mya Campbell all won region gold three times.
Jamison finished first in the boys high jump, long jump and triple jump. He used a personal best mark of 19 feet, 6.5 inches to win the long jump. He had a height of 5-8 in the high jump, and a mark of 41-11.25 in the triple jump.
Jamison helped Colony finish second in the Division I boys team standings.
Hopkins swept the Division I girls distance events, with wins in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter races. The junior had her best times of the season in the 1,600 (5 minutes, 23 seconds) and 3,200 (11:41), and added a time of 2:23.04 in the 800.
Hopkins led the Knights to a runner-up finish in the Division I girls standings. She was also named a most outstanding athlete of the meet.
Campbell led Valley Division II athletes with victories in the girls high jump, long jump and triple jump. Campbell had a personal best in the triple jump (33-3) and a season best in the long jump (16-2). Campbell added a mark of 4-10 in the high jump.
Palmer’s Leila Peterson won a pair of sprints. Petersen was first in the Division I girls 100 (26.85) and 200 (59.80).
Colony’s Tobias Buchanan (1,600) and Kenton Phelps (discus) won Division I boys events, and Redington’s Myles Campbell (triple jump) won a Division II boys events.
Colony’s Denali Anderson-Berghoff (100 meters) and Malia Matthews (high jump), and Palmer’s Abby Pettit (shot put), and Wasilla’s Caelynn Carter (300 hurdles) and McKinley Hafen (long jump) each finished first in Division I girls events.
