A group of Mat-Su prep basketball players are slated to compete in the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches Senior All-Star Games Saturday at Grace Christian School in Anchorage.
Wasilla’s Bella Hays and Megan Alley, Palmer’s Alyssa Clark and Livia Solis, Redington’s Lexi Seymore, and Houston’s Emily Bitler will play in the 3A/4A girls game. Houston’s Braden Cork and Cody Wyrick, Redington’s Harvey Pullen and Redington’s Logan Seymore are in the 3A/4A boys game.
Susitna Valley’s India Roderick and Myka Wilson are in the 1A/2A girls game, and Su Valley’s Bryson Jolley will play in the 1A/2A boys game.
This is the 10th year for the all-star games. The event was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the covid pandemic.
The 1A/2A girls game is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the 1A/2A boys game will follow at 3:45 p.m. The 3A/4A girls game is at 6 p.m. and the 3A/4A boys game is at 7:45 p.m.
AABC is also induncting former players, coaches, referees and sports reporters into its hall of fame.
The hall of fame class includes players Jason Kaiser, Molly Tuter, Devin Bokkert, Kelsey Griffin, Milo Griffen, and Ruthy Hebard; coaches Peter Bakun, Chuck White, Jim Young, Milo Griffen, David Porter, and Jeannie Hebert-Truax; officials Don Kussube, Dick Shellhorn, and Mike Lyle; and sports reporters Van Williams, Dave Lavel and Jeremiah Bartz.
