Valley grapplers win titles at Kodiak tourney

KODIAK — Three Mat-Su Valley wrestlers won their weight class during the final round of the Robin Hervey Invitational on Saturday in Kodiak.

Palmer senior Nick Stahler, Palmer junior Jared Kemp and Houston senior Justin Crowley each won titles.

Stahler blanked Homer’s Ben Daigle 6-0 in the 140-pound final. Kemp beat Bethel’s Seth O’Brien at 125.

At 215, Crowley earned a 9-3 win over Kodiak’s Charles Martin.

Sam Heindel (171), Ransome Kelley (189) and Will Peters (285) also advanced to the finals and finished second.

Aaron Richardson also advanced to the finals for Houston and finished second at 130.
