The Houston Hawks used a big second half to score a win over their rival.
The Hawks outscored Redington 47-26 during the final two quarters of a 66-43 victory over the Huskies Tuesday night at Houston High School.
Houston hit a half-dozen three-pointers during a 26-point third quarter. Cole Taylor drained four three-pointers during that eight-minute span. Taylor knocked down six of Houston’s 11 threes in the game, and scored 20 points. Hayden Howard added a pair of threes during the third. Howard led Houston with a game-high 21 points. Braden Cork added 14 in the win. Cork also led the Hawks with six rebounds and five steals.
Logan Seymore led Redington with 13 points. Cort Sanderfer finished with a game-high 10 rebounds for Redington.
Lexi Seymore used a double-double to lead the Redington girls to a 60-36 win over the Hawks. Seymore finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds, both game highs, and added seven steals. She also shot 9 of 18 from the field. Destiny Simmons scored 13 points and Hailey Stoker scored 10.
Redington opened the game on a 24-5 run.
Anna Whitted led Houston with eight points in the loss.
Moose split with WarriorsThe Palmer Moose split a pair of home games against the Wasilla Warriors Tuesday at Pamer High. The Wasilla girls beat Palmer 58-44. Palmer followed with a 50-46 win over the Wasilla boys.
Bella Hays scored 26 points to lead the Wasilla girls to a win. Hays scored eight points during Wasilla’s 22-11 first-quarter run. Sierra Baird added 10 and Sheridan Green chipped in eight.
Kinzey Hutchings and Grace Pickett led Palmer with nine points each. Lily Anderson added eight.
Shea Halbert scored a dozen during the Palmer win over the Wasilla boys. He was 5 of 7 from the free throw line. Elijah Barnes added 10 points.
