WASILLA -- Rep. Carl Gatto's office at the Wasilla Legislative Information Office isn't the only office open during the legislative session, despite a previous story to that effect.
Rep. Bev. Masek's Wasilla office is staffed by Caroline McRoberts during the interim, and she can be reached by calling 376-2679 Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., although the office is closed if McRoberts is attending a community meeting. McRoberts said Masek has, in the past, kept the office open during session, but each year's staffing arrangement is determined according to need.
The Legislative Information Office is also open during the session, as it is every year, and provides a place for Valley residents to listen in on teleconferences, send public opinion messages and find out more information about legislation. The office can be reached at 376-5704 Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends and evenings when House or Senate teleconferences are scheduled.
Representatives Vic Kohring, R-Wasilla, and Bill Stoltze, R-Chugiak, and Senators Lyda Green, R-Wasilla, and Scott Ogan, R-Mat-Su, have provided toll-free numbers for use during the session. Kohring can be reached at 1-800-468-2186. Stoltze can be reached at 1-866-465-5928. Green can be reached at 1-877-465-6601. Ogan can be reached at 1-800-862-3878. Sen. Gene Therriault, whose district covers a portion of the Valley as well as the Fairbanks area, can be reached at 1-800-860-4797. Sen. John Harris, whose district covers a portion of the eastern Mat-Su as well as Valdez, can be reached at 1-888-465-4859.
