A handful of Valley competed in the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches Senior All-Star Games last week at Grace Christian School in Anchorage.
Colony’s Hallie Clark, Tonya Karpow, Ashlyn Waggoner and Ally Shelley played in the 3A/4A girls all-star game. Colony’s Ridge Spencer and Palmer’s Logan McCann were part of the 3A/4A boys game. Susitna Valley’s Miles Osmond was in the 1A/2A boys game.
Shelley and Waggoner helped Team Blue earn an 82-80 win over Team Gold in the 3A/4A girls all-star game. Shelley led Team Blue with 14 points in the game. Waggoner added 11 points, including a trio of three-pointers. Clark scored a game-high 23 points for Team Gold. Karpow finished with 18. She hit four three-pointers and was 6 of 6 from the free throw line.
Clark, Karpow, Shelley and Waggoner recently helped Colony win the ASAA 4A girls state title.
In the 3A/4A boys game, Team Blue beat Team Gold 87-80. Spencer was a part of Team Blue. McCann was a member of Team Gold.
Osmond helped lead Team Gold to an 84-82 win over Team Blue in the 1A/2A boys game. The Susitna Valley senior led his team with a dozen points, including a pair of threes.
