ANCHORAGE — A half-dozen Valley athletes were named all-tournament following the ASAA/First National Bank 4A State Championships at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage last Saturday.
Wasilla senior Alyssa Hutchins and juniors Alexis Imoe and Alysha Devine were named all-tourney after helping lead the Warriors to their second straight state title.
Colony junior Mary Klapperich, who helped lead the Knights to a third-place finish, was also named to the girls’ team.
Wasilla seniors Connor Devine and Braydon Kuiper were named to the boys’ all-tournament team. The Warriors finished third in the state tournament.
Valley teams also swept the academic awards. The Palmer Moose won the girls’ award with a team grade point average of 3.75. Five members of the team have a 4.0 GPA.
The Colony Knights won the boys’ academic award, with a 3.33 GPA. Three members of the Knights have a 4.0 GPA.
