Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Colony senior Aidan Ehmann led a group of local players who were recently named All-Chugach Conference.
Ehmann, a running back and defensive back, was named all-conference as both an offensive and defensive player. Colony’s Peter Plant and Ben Alley were named all-conference as offensive players, and Evan Walker and Jace Trangmoe were recognized as defensive players.
Wasilla’s Colton Lindquist, Andrew Devine and Matthew Wood were named all-conference on the offensive side. The Warriors’ Austin Byron, Payson White and Gavin Harrington were named all-conference on defense.
Colony and Wasilla are typically part of the Division I Chugach Conference, which also includes Bartlett, Chugiak and Juneau. The 2020 prep football schedule was rewritten due to the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigation plans put together by school districts throughout the state. The Mat-Su Borough School District restricted competition to only within the district during the regular season. The Alaska Schools Activities Association canceled all remaining fall state championship events prior to the start of the Division I championships.
Colony finished 5-0 overall during the regular season. The Knights beat Palmer twice, Wasilla twice, and had another win over Houston. Colony outscored its opponents 164-35.
Wasilla finished 4-2. The Warriors beat Palmer and Houston twice, and suffered a pair of losses to Colony.
