Valley rallies to help accident victim

To the editor:

On May 8, Conor Daugharty, 23, was rear-ended in Anchorage at Airport Heights/Mountain View Drive and the Glenn Highway while stopped at the light. Conor is continuing his rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Denver with some setbacks as well as gains of improvement. Conor’s recover is ongoing and the process for healing will be a lifetime for the family.

Since this incident, many of the Daughartys’ friends have held fundraisers to offset the expense the family is facing.

On July 25, a fundraiser was held at Wasilla High School to help the Daughartys mounting expenses. Words could never express the overwhelming support that has been shown to the Daugharty family in a most difficult time that no family should ever imagine or face.

The Daughartys would like to express to the Mat-Su Borough School District and Valley community a heartfelt thank you for the love and support this community has shown their family in this difficult time of their lives.

They will continue to be with their son throughout his rehabilitation. Again, thank you for all you have done.
