Valley scoreboard- Metlakatla stuns Palmer

Chris Bryant scored 27 points to lift Metlakatla to a 61-59 non-conference win over the Moose. Palmer lost despite a 27-point, 16-rebound effort from senior Stanley Ratcliff.

Kurtis Devon added 22 points for the Moose.

The Shootout semifinals will feature three 3A schools and just one 4A program.

Host Dimond is the lone large school team to advance in the winners bracket after a 75-49 win over Grace Christian.

Heritage Christian defeated Kodiak 67-40 and Valdez topped Chugiak 63-48 to move ahead.

Dimond blanks Colony

The Dimond Lynx hockey squad skated to a 10-0 win over the Colony Knights at Ben Boekee Arena on Thursday.

Colony goaltender Tyrel Henkel made 37 saves, but the Lynx out-shot Colony 47-7.

Jason Stralka and Nick Flores each collected four points to lead

Palmer hockey match called

A non-conference hockey game between Tri-Valley and Palmer was canceled.

The game to be played Thursday at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena was called due to Mat-Su Borough school cancellations and the high wind warnings in the Valley.
