Valley squads beat Peninsula foes

The Wasilla Warriors used a pair of first-period goals to score a 3-2 victory over Soldotna Thursday night at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla.

Dylan Mean scored shorthanded to give the Warriors an early lead and Elijah Barcelona added a goal late in the first frame. Easton Styers added a goal for Wasilla.

The Warriors outshot the Stars 26-16. Elijah Kelley made 14 saves for Wasilla.

Palmer beat up Kenau 11-3. Chase Ringler enjoyed a seven-point night, with five goals and two assists. Zander Anderson and Clayton Conrad added two goals each.

Soldotna edged the Moose 3-2. Ringler scored both Palmer goals. The Stars scored two of their three goals in the third.

Andrey Efimov scored twice to lead Houston to a 3-2 win over Kenai. Zasim Konev also scored.
