A team of 13 Mat-Su Career and Technical High School students competed at the National Science Olympiad competition May 17 at University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida. Team members competed in 23 different scoring events and two trial events. The high school team place 52 among 60 representing 49 states and Japan and the Teeland Middle School team placed 56th. Representing CTHS at the National Science Olympiad were Ariel Hasse, Joshua Hartman, Lucas Arthur, Kharissa Chasse, Madeline Larson, Lily Harris, Micheal Hardy, Neal Alcina, Madison Hardwig, Ashton Lund, Derek French, Tyler Olson and Edward Danilyuk. WASILLA — A team of 13 Mat-Su Career and Technical High School students competed at the National Science Olympiad competition May 17 at University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida.

Team members competed in 23 different scoring events and two trial events.

Career Tech students Tyler Olson and Edward Danilyuk earned a fourth-place medal in the boomilever competition and placed eighth in elastic launched glider.

The high school team place 52 among 60 representing 49 states and Japan and the Teeland Middle School team placed 56th.
