Valley students excel at All-State Art

Palmer High School art students took three first-place awards and one second-place award at the 2017 Alaska State Activities Association All State Art Competition last weekend.

Madeline Ko with her “No Looking Up” took first place in the Communication Art/Graphic Design category; River Parpana took first in Painting with “Feelings are the Key Ingredients to Make One Fine Meal”, and Aidyn Dervaes took first in Sculpture with ‘Political TV”, with fellow Moose artist Brianna Jensen taking second in Sculpture with “Snagged.”

Emily Manthey of Wasilla High took honorable mention in Drawing with “Toasting Marshmallows”.
