A Wasilla junior added another gold medal to her running resume and a Palmer senior earned his biggest cross-country win to date during the Region III Championships Friday at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.

Colony also swept the team titles as the Valley dominated the Region III-Division I storylines.

Wasilla’s Hailee Giacobbe scored her second straight Region III Division I girls title, using a time of 19 minutes, 19 seconds to finish first. Giacobbe is now a perfect 7 for 7 in her meets this year, and ran her fourth fastest time of the season at Kincaid. She finished 22 seconds ahead of Soldotna’s Sophia Jedlicki, the runner-up.

Giacobbe is also the defending Division I state champion.
