PALMER — A Valley squad skated to a title during the annual Ladies C Cup Ice Hockey Classic.

Bore Tide scored a 4-2 win over the Pub Hounds of Anchorage during the final day of the women’s hockey tournament, Sunday at the MTA Events Center in Palmer. In addition to bagging the championship, Bore Tide also bounced back from a 3-2 loss to the Pub Hounds Saturday afternoon. Bore Tide also beat the Hockey Sisters 9-0 early Saturday morning. Bore Tide opened the tourney with a 5-0 win over Team BOB on Friday.

In the intermediate division, a pair of Anchorage-based teams faced off with Darcy’s Team beating Ho Ho Ho Hockey 5-0.

The tournament, designed to coincide with the Palmer Chamber of Commerce’s Colony Christmas, has grown from a four-team event to a 10-team holiday staple in Palmer. Teams play a total of 17 games in three days at the MTA Events Center in Palmer.
