Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

MAT-SU — Travel is part of the holiday plans for many of the prep varsity basketball players in the area. Teams from Colony, Houston, Palmer and Wasilla will travel throughout the state and country this week to compete in basketball tournament.
The Colony boys and girls teams head to Scottsdale, Ariz., to compete in the Cactus Jam.
The Palmer boys and Wasilla girls head north to compete in the Mount McKinley Bank Holiday Classic at Monroe Catholic High School. The Palmer girls make the trip to Ketchikan for the Clarke Christmas Classic.
The Wasilla boys will be in Bristol, Tenn., for the Arby’s Classic. The Houston boys will be in Hawaii for the Merv Lopes Holiday Classic.
