Mat-Su prep hockey squads finished a combined 6-0-1 against three teams visiting from the Kenai Peninsula over the weekend.
Palmer swept games against Kenai, Homer and Soldotna,
Elijah Von Gunten and Dane Joseph each scored twice to lead Palmer to an 8-2 win over Kenai Saturday. Peyton Neumann, Kinan Greco, Sawyer Nelius and Clayton Conrad also scored. Keagon O’Bryan stopped 21 shots.
Von Gunten also scored twice during a 6-1 win over Homer. Joseph, Tavian Mukaabya, Kaleb Von Gunten and Bradford Heard also scored. Palmer outshot the Mariners 51-45.
The Moose erupted for four power play goals during a 6-2 win over Soldotna,
Greco notched a hat trick in the win, and scored twice on the power play. Zidane Dietz and Nate Wright added power play goals. Elijah Von Gunten also scored.
Palmer outshot SoHi 40-20.
Wasilla beat Soldotna 6-4 and Kenai 6-1.
Karson McGraw scored four goals against the Stars. Sterling Myers and Mason Varner added goals.
Grant Barksdale finished with a hat trick against the Kards. Mason Holler scored twice and Myers added a goal.
Colony beat Soldotna 4-3 and tied Kenai 6-6.
Kaden Lynch finished with a hat trick against the Stars and Sawyer Kelpe added a goal.
Kelpe, Adam Kara, Ethan McNulty, Logan Lofland and Matthew Ross scored against the Kards.
Houston earned three wins on the road.
The Hawks beat Tri-Valley 6-1. Daniel Matveev had a hat trick. Domnin Efimov, Afanasy Efimov and Caymen Kingery also scored.
Houston also beat Monroe Catholic 14-0 and 12-1 in Fairbanks.
