MAT-SU — Celebrate your blessings this season by sharing your bounty with neighbors this year through the Valley Thanksgiving Blessing project. The community has pooled its food resources and will give away food baskets at six locations around the Valley from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 23. Distribution locations are by ZIP code. People must bring proof of address with them to the distribution site.
If you would like to help with this year’s Valley Thanksgiving Blessing, cash, food donations and volunteers are needed. Contact individual sites to volunteer.
Donate food at any Valley food bank, including those in Palmer and Wasilla.
Suggested donations include aluminum roasting pans, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, 12 packs of dinner rolls, gravy mix, pies, pounds of butter/margarine and stuffing mix.
Cash donations of $15 will buy a turkey, $45 will provide a complete Thanksgiving dinner. Make checks payable to Wasilla Bible Church and note on the memo line that it is for Valley Thanksgiving Blessing.
