ANCHORAGE -- Wrestlers from Palmer, Colony and Dimond competed against the toughest wrestlers from around the state in the Dimond Classic wrestling tournament Saturday at Dimond High School.
In a field of 13 schools, Wasilla scored 131.5 total team points to place second behind tournament winner Dimond, which scored 139.5.
Palmer finished in sixth place with Colony finishing 11th.
Wasilla's Gunnar Brannon won the 130-pound championship by a forfeit from teammate Bo Kittley. Colony's Doug Scholberg took fourth place.
Wasilla's Sam Loeb took fourth place in the 125 pound division with Palmer's Jonah Stewart advancing to the 135 pound championship match before settling on second place.
Colony's Danial Graham took a 10-8 decision over Lathrop's Mike Osborn to secure the 140-pound championship. Wasilla's Ryan Olivera gained an 11-3 decision over Kodiak's Steve O'Brien to take third place.
Wasilla's Ben Olson dropped an 8-6 decision to take second place in the 152-pound championship.
Wasilla's Abe Salmon defeated Service's Ryan Ersland 6-4 to win the 160-pound championship with teammate Cory Crane securing third.
Palmer's Seth Yuill took fourth in the 171-pound division after dropping a 13-5 decision in the third-place match.
Jed Wade of Wasilla defeated Kodiak's David O'Brien 7-5 to win the 189-pound division.
Wasilla's Jeramiee Miesler placed second in the 215-pound division and fellow Warrior Josh Nelson took fourth.
Palmer's Jon Hillman finished second in the heavyweight division.
