BUTTE — Two men face charges in connection with about $60,000 worth vandalism at the Eklutna Tailrace Fish Hatchery in early November, authorities said.
Michael P. Scott, 35, and Corey Jenson, 19, are among as many as nine suspects believed to have played roles in damage to the hatchery reported Nov. 8, according to Alaska State Troopers with the Criminal Suppression Unit.
Scott faces charges of first-degree theft, second-degree trespassing, second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, and tampering with physical evidence, according to an Alaska State Troopers press release.
Jenson faces first-degree theft, second-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and tampering with physical evidence, and is being held on $100,000 cash and corporate bail with a court-appointed third-party custody requirement, according to the press release.
Scott also was charged with second-degree theft and first-degree criminal trespass in connection with his part in the theft of about $2,000 worth of personal property from a vehicle in Glacier View Dec. 13, according to the release.
The investigation is ongoing, troopers said.
