WASILLA — Valley Community Recycling for Solutions is hosting their annual Recycle Revival fundraiser this Saturday at the Settlers Bay Golf Course.
Recycle Revival is a full day of music, raffles, over 20 local vendors, and family fun with a scenic backdrop.
“It should be a ball. It will be a lot of fun, and it’s a beautiful place,” VCRS acting community liaison, Randi Perlman said. “It truly is a spectacular venue. The views are just magnificent in every direction. It’s expensive… You’re listening to great music, having a great time, looking at great views. It’s just a spectacular place to hold an event.”
Bands such as Braided River, Carhartt Brothers, and Denali Cooks will be performing at this year’s event.
“They’re all great bands and they’re all psyched to play this event,” Perlman said. “People are happy to be out and about and with each other again, dancing and listening to music.”
Perlman said it’s exciting to return to a live event after having to hold last year’s show virtually.
The event runs from 3 to 11 p.m. at the Settlers Bay Golf Course, located at 7307 South Frontier Drive in Wasilla. Tickets are $20 per person. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets in addition to reusable cups to receive a free sticker for them.
“It’s a continuation to an important vision and mission, and it helps us keep the Mat-Su looking beautiful. Keeping trash out of the landfill helps all of our residents save money. It’s just kind of a sensible way to do business, and I think more and more people are starting to realize that. It’s been incredible,” Perlman said.
