To the editor:
Valley Community for Recycling Solutions would like to thank the following people for their time, creativity and expertise in the beautification of our Regional Resource Recovery and Training Park (community recycling center) by creating a rain garden.
These community members gave their time on a sunny day to come to the center and help plant the garden: Kathleen Asay, Lori Gorsch, Daniel Parks, Josh Parks, Sam Dinges, Sue Wallin, Anne Kilkenny, Charlie Sartor, Kirsty Sanchez, Randi Perlman, Sandy Duncan, Gary Campbell and Mat-Su Carbon Crew members David Johnson and Tim Vogel.
The project would not have been possible without the generous donation of beautiful plants given by community members for inclusion in the rain garden.
Special thanks to the rain garden project administrators: Mat-Su Borough summer intern Alexander Salmins, who was here from Indiana heading up the project and working with borough environmental planner Frankie Barker; Wasilla Soil and Water Conservation District program manager Catherine Inman; Rock Ridge Services landscaping project manager Fritz Hoffman; and Sustainable Design Group landscape architects Eric Morey and Luanne Urfer.
