It's that time of year again. Veterans Day events are scheduled across the Mat-Su Valley.
Below is a list of local gatherings honoring those who served their country:
The Mat-Su College is hosting its annual Veterans Day Tribute at the Glenn Massay Theater Friday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.
U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan will appear as the special guest speaker. This year’s ceremony will include performances by Colony High School's JROTC program, TAPS Bugler Gene Horner, and a special presentation to Alaska Gold Star Families and their fallen service members.
“Most families in the state call veterans their neighbors and friends. Our ceremony serves to bring the community together each year to celebrate the numerous veterans in the Mat-Su Valley and to honor those service members who have given their lives in service to our country.” Senior Master Sergeant (Ret.) Tom Spangler stated in a recent press release.
