Veterans Day breakfast

A Veterans Day breakfast is from 8 to 10 a.m., Nov. 11 at Primrose Retirement Community in Wasilla. Guest speaker is Steve Colligan. This is open to all Veterans, as well as the facility’s seniors. For more information, contact Kristen or Marcie at 373-5500.

Veterans Wall of Honor ceremony

American Legion Post 15 will host a Veterans Day event at 11 a.m., Nov. 11 at the Veterans Wall of Honor in Wasilla. Everyone is encouraged to attend. For more information, contact 746-6485.

Elks plan Veterans’ Day ceremony

Join Palmer Elks Lodge 1842 in a ceremony to honor veterans at 5:30 p.m., Nov. 11 on Finger Lake. Friday Night Dinner follows from 6 to 8 p.m., in the dining room. Karaoke starts at 8 p.m. For more information, visit palmerelks.org.

Alaska Veterans Museum extravaganza

Alaska Veterans Museum, 333 A. 4th Ave. Suite 227 in Anchorage, will host an event from noon to 2 p.m., and again from 3 to 4 p.m., Nov. 11.

Stop by for a Civil War encampment, fashion show, cannon demonstration, camp life demonstrations, hardtack and johnnycake tastings, a tutorial on making paper cartridges and much more. At 2 p.m., a statue commemorating the Alaska Territorial Guard will be dedicated in front of the museum.

Admission to this event is free to museum members, active-duty with ID card and ATG members. The cost for everyone else is $3.
