Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Viola Alice Johnson, 60, died Nov. 21, 2004, at her home in Palmer, of a heart attack.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 27, at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary. Father Leo Desso officiated.
Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 3, 1944, in Park River, N.D. She began her Alaska residency in July 1980, in Chugiak. She lived there until 1986, when she moved to Palmer.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and volunteered at Chugiak Senior Center. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and bingo.
Her family wrote, "Viola was a true and kind person, always reaching out to help people in need. She was the steady cornerstone of our family. She will be loved and missed by all."
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Johnson; son, Larry L. Johnson; daughter in-law, Debbie L. Johnson; sons, Terry L. Johnson and Raymond L. Johnson; grandchildren, Michelle R., Cassandra L., Brook Tyler and Morgan Rae; brother, Ernest(Dukey)Lien Jr. and sister, Margaret Chaput.
Memorial donations may be sent to Robert Johnson, HC-5 Box 6908C, Palmer, AK 99645.
