Longtime Palmer resident Violet Lea Ehrhart, 82, died peacefully at home Dec. 7, 2003.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
Mrs. Ehrhart was born Violet L. McVicker on Sept. 13, 1921, in Leland, Idaho.
She traveled to Alaska when she was 19 years old to visit her brother Virgil McVicker who was teaching in Palmer. She moved to Alaska in 1939.
In Palmer she met and married Rex Ehrhart in March 1941. They were involved in a variety of enterprises with Mrs. Ehrhart being best known for her ownership of Lea's Dress Shop in downtown Palmer.
In retirement she enjoyed golfing and travel until health concerns curtailed those activities.
Survivors include her sister Zella; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Beth Ehrhart; grandsons Jim and Dax Ehrhart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Ehrhart.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
