KNIK — Mat-Su Valley volunteers will spend a few hours from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Nov. 15 teaching lessons on financial literacy and entrepreneurship to students in kindergarten through second grade at Goose Bay Elementary School.
Mat-Su businesses are sponsoring the first-time Junior Achievement in a Day event, providing funds for materials and training, as well as the volunteers for the day.
Volunteers from the business community will teach five, lively, hands-on economics lessons and talk about their work and educational experiences.
Last year Junior Achievement of Alaska reached more than 7,000 students statewide with its age-appropriate, hands-on K-12 financial literacy programs.
