The first of a series of weekly “Sew In” events to make new regalia for children and youth is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 29 at the Ya Ne Dah Ah School, Mile 55, Glenn Highway.
Volunteers will make new regalia for the Ya Ne Dah Ah Drummers Singers and Dancers, Northwind Unity Youth Drummers Singers and Dancers and Yuut Nayangairitt Drummers Singers and Dancers.
People are needed who can design, make patterns the traditional way, sew, bead and cut fabric, or who are willing to care for the children. Supplies also are needed, such as fabric, leather, beads, feathers, trims, thread, pins, scissors, measuring tapes and sewing machines. Cash donations also are appreciated.
