Voter deadline extended

Division of Elections offices will be open in the Mat-Su Borough this weekend to assist voters wishing to register to vote, to update voter registration or to change political party affiliation in time to vote in the 2012 primary election on Aug. 28.

Deadline to register or make changes before the election is July 29.

The Mat-Su Elections Office, 1700 E. Bogard Road, Building B, Suite 102, Wasilla, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 28 and from noon to 4 p.m., July 29 this weekend.

The Division of Elections also accepts voter registration applications submitted by mail, fax or email. Voter registration applications are available at any Division of Elections regional office, at municipal clerk offices at the Division of Motor Vehicles and at many public libraries.

Registration applications are also available at the Division of Elections website at elections.alaska.gov.
