Voting cures complacency

To the editor:

“A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court,” by Mark Twain, should be required reading for teachers before they graduate.

And if any of you out there know you’re too complacent, please read this novel. Maybe you’ll get out of your shell and realize why America is an exceptional country. Why you need to stand up for your freedoms, rights and liberties that are being rtaken away your representatives, that are your public servants, not the elite that need to have their feet kissed.

We, the people, need to protect our country, its values and standards that are going down the toilet because not enough are voting or caring.
