WASILLA — Valley Performing Arts’ local rendition of Stephen King’s classic horror story, “Misery” is the second play of the season and the last showing takes place just a day before Halloween.
VPA Executive Director Garry Forrester said it’s been a good run and they’ve had plenty of positive feedback from the community.
“A lot of elements from the book and movie are incorporated into the play. The story is dark, but people have enjoyed it,” Forrester said. “We’re really happy with the success and the turnout of the show.”
Forrester said it feels good to be back to “business as usual” at VPA. He said their members keep the community in community theater and give everything they have during each show they present to the public.
“Our volunteers are back in full force,” Forrester said.
Next show: Babes in Toyland 5:50 opens Friday, Nov. 25
“The holidays are about family, and that’s what we’re all about. So, we’re going to keep doing what we do best,” Forrester said. We appreciate the community for coming out and supporting us.”
