WASILLA — Iditapark looked a little different last Saturday as HeartReach Center celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Walk for Life.

This year’s theme was “Celebrate Kids” and included a carnival theme.

About 250 walkers enjoyed the day by participating in pizza-eating contests, pie-eating contests, puppet shows and face painting. It was a time of fun, food and fellowship.

Walk for Life is one of the HeartReach Center’s main fundraising events of the year, and has raised more than $25,250 so far.

HeartReach Center is a life-affirming pregnancy resource center that educates and encourages individuals and their families to make healthy life choices regarding pregnancy and offer support as they make the decision to parent.

The center has served the Valley for 26 years.

Donations can still be made online at heartreachalaska.com or by contacting 373-3456.
