Walk the walk by continually saying what God said

A lot is said about the mouth in God’s word: your mouth will put you in bondage unless you learn to control it.

Proverbs 6:2, “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.”

Jesus said, in the 15th chapter of Matthew, verse 18, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.”

“But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Continually confess the promises from God’s word that you have as a believer. They will grow like a seed in your spirit over a period of time and your faith will grow so you can “walk the walk”. These truths will become established in your spirit and become true and will flow from you as you walk in the light.

Now right off, when we start talking about confessing God’s word, and walking in it, people come along and say, “well, I’ve tried that confessing thing and it doesn’t work.” In the past we’ve had many people preaching against confession because of their unbelief. Because they have their eyes on the circumstances and not on God’s word.

Establish your words to conform with God’s word. By your words, you should speak and agree with God’s word. Jesus said, “The words of the mouth can defile you.” Yes, words can defile the whole body.

I heard of a minister that was talking with a neurosurgeon, this doctor said that the medical profession had just found out that man’s words, when spoken, can effect the whole central nervous system. When we continue to speak words like, “I am sick,” or worse yet; words about dying, our central nervous systems starts to prepare our bodies to conform to our words.

When this minister told the doctor that he already knew this information the doctor was surprised, and wanted to know who had told him. The minister said, “Dr. Luke said that over 2,000 years ago.”

Matthew, chapter 4, brings a truth of God’s spoken word to light so clear. As Jesus said in verses 4, 7, and 10:

“But he answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

“Jesus said unto him, it is written again, thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

“Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

Satan cannot stand against God’s word. That is why Christians need to speak God’s word so they can put to work the power of God in our lives. Yes, the power of God, because when your tongue and your word line up with the word of God, his power will go to work for you just like he said it will.

Jesus always spoke to the problem. He spoke the desired results, the final results: when he spoke it, it was final.

James 3:2, 8: “But those who control their tongues can also control themselves in every other way,” and “it is full of wickedness that can ruin your whole life,” and “full of deadly poison.”

James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

How do you submit to God? Give him your all and you submit yourself to his word.

Speak God’s word.

Don’t speak words that agree with the adversary.

One time I started saying, “Fair to middlin,’” when someone would ask me how I was doing. My answer was always, “fair to middlin,’” time after time. Then one day I looked at myself and this bad confession, and that’s just how I felt: “fair to middlin.’” Fair and less.

Then I started confessing I have the “Joy of the Lord,” another good confession I made. “He will strengthen my mortal body.” When I got that in my spirit, my body began to line up with my good confessions. I started seeing myself as above fair, and rising.

See, I had gotten my eyes on the circumstances with a bad confession not on God’s word, but I turned that around with a good confession and believing his word. God always performs his word when we walk in agreement.

John 15:7, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

God didn’t say these words just to fill pages. Grab hold of them, confess them and they will become real in your spirit.

Take in God’s word, meditate on it, confess what you have in Jesus and it will turn your life around.
