Wallace Wesley (Wally) Riehle entered heaven Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 age 83. Wally was born in Spokane, WA. He graduated from Canby High School and Oregon State College, and received his Master of Agriculture degree.
He married Janette Ross on Dec. 27, 1959 in Harrington, WA. In 1961, He began his 30-year-long career with the Farmer’s Home Administration (USDA). After living in Palmer, Wrangell, Juneau, Soldotna, Washington DC, and Indiana, he retired and returned to Alaska in 1993. After co-pastoring the Nazarene Church in Homer, Alaska, the couple moved back to Palmer.
Wally loved to sing, and usually led the music in the churches he attended. His family said, “He was a good man who loved his family, who loved his Lord, and who loved to share his faith with others. We will see him again.”
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Pauline Riehle. He is survived by 4 brothers and 1 sister; his wife of almost 61 years, Janette Riehle; his children, Darlene (Tim) Strickland, Vernon (Dorothy) Riehle, and Karen (Troy) Knight; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
