Wasilla resident Walter "Red" L. Decker, Jr., 67, was found dead at his residence on Feb. 17, 2002.
A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla, with Fr. Kaspar of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.
Mr. Decker was born June 30, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, to Walter L. Decker Sr. and Mae F. (Smith) Decker. He came to Alaska approximately 25 years ago. He had been employed as a sheet metal worker in Ohio, and for a time in Alaska.
Survivors are his sons, Mark S. DiSantis, Michael T. DiSantis, and Patrick J. DiSantis; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his former spouse, JoAnn DiSantis; all of Ohio.
