WASILLA — Monday night, Wasilla head coach Amber Craig caught a glimpse of what she hopes to see for the remainder of the season.
“This shouldn’t be the exception, this is how we should play all the time,” Craig said after Wasilla’s 4-0 win over Colony at Wasilla High School.
Amy Jo Coonrod scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, who can lock up the Northern Lights Conference North Division’s top seed for the upcoming NLC tourney with a win over Palmer tonight at Palmer High.
Rachel Kennedy and Erin Murray also scored for the Warriors.
“It’s good to see that the girls continue to get stronger in every game,” Craig said.
Kennedy knocked in a rebounded that deflected off the post during the 18th minute to give the Warriors the 1-0 lead, and Wasilla posted three more scores in the second half. Coonrod knocked a header off a Nikki Vanni corner kick during the 53rd minute, and slipped inside the goalie box and slipped a short shot past the keeper during the 67th minute.
Murray posted her score in the 62nd minute.
