The Wasilla Warriors moved into second place in the latest 4A girls' basketball poll.
The 8-2 Warriors garnered 28 total points and leaped ahead of Chugiak on the list. The 11-1 Mustangs dropped from first to third after a 47-45 loss to Dimond last weekend.
Wasilla, which crushed Bartlett during the weekend, had been ranked third for the last three weeks. Lathrop earned 44 total votes and eight first-place votes to move into the top spot.
Palmer made its first appearance of the season in the 4A boys poll. The Moose earned 11 total votes to move into the fifth spot. Palmer is 5-0 in Region III play and 8-4 overall. Bartlett, which earned a slim victory over the Moose on Tuesday at Palmer High, hung onto the top spot with 45 total points and eight first-place votes. East (2nd), West (3rd) and Lathrop (4th) round out the top-five.
Colony and Matanuska Christian each received one vote in the current poll. The 8-5 Knights are eighth in the voting in the 4A girls poll and MCS garnered a vote in the 2A girls poll.
