Warriors 2-0, Knights 1-1 in first two days of Anchorage tourney

ANCHORAGE — The Wasilla Warriors cruised through the first two days of the Dimond Lady Lynx Prep Shootout in Anchorage.

Wasilla bounced Craig 71-37 on Wednesday, and blew past Ketchikan 73-33 on Thursday.

Alyssa Hutchins scored a game-high 28 points during the win over the Kings Thursday. The senior guard and UAA recruit hit 13 of 20 shots from the field and buried a pair of three-pointes. Ricki Koso added 10 for the Warriors, who shot 61 percent in the first half and 55 percent in the game.

Alysha Devine led a balanced scoring attack during the win over Craig. Devine scored 15, Alexis Imoe finished with 13 and Kyla Dinkel chipped in a dozen.

Wasilla plays West Valley today at 6:45 p.m.

Colony is 1-1 in the tournament after a win over East Anchorage and loss to Juneau-Douglas.

Five different players scored eight or more points during Colony’s 50-39 win over East on Wednesday. Saige Stefanski scored a team-high 10.

Juneau used an 11-2 first-quarter run to score a 60-54 win over Colony on Thursday. Faith Farris scored 12 for the Knights.
