The Wasilla Warriors will play for the Division I state hockey title.
Wasilla skated into the final with a 4-1 win over West Anchorage during the semifinal round of the ASAA/First National Bank Division I State Hockey Championships Friday at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.
Wasilla will face third-seeded Dimond Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Menard in the championship game. The Lynx beat South Anchorage 8-2 in the other semifinal.
Karson McGrew notched the hat trick in the Wasilla win. McGrew scored twice during a 24-second span in the third, and added a goal with 38 seconds left in regulation. Roman Holler also scored for the Warriors.
Wasilla scored four unanswered goals. Martin Tumey had given West the 1-0 lead with 7:07 left in the second.
Wasilla outshot West 31-20 in the win. Jakob Barcelona made 19 saves in the win.
Wasilla is in the state championship game for the second time in school history, and the first since 1989.
In consolation semifinal action, Colony beat Chugiak 3-1 and Service edged Houston 2-1.
Colony will play Service in the fourth-place game Saturday at noon.
