WASILLA — The Wasilla Warriors continued their early-season assault on opposing pitching staffs with 9-0 nonconference win over Bartlett Tuesday in Anchorage.
Jeffrey Forster knocked in a team-high four RBI against the Golden Bears to help the Warriors improve to 5-1 overall. Ben Werner drove in two runs. Ryan Perkins, Cyruss Lovell and Nolan Monaghan finished with two hits each.
Austin Robertson tossed a five-inning complete game for the Warriors. He fanned eight and allowed only two hits.
The Palmer Moose dropped a pair of nonconference games in Anchorage this week.
Monday, Service used a quick start to score a 9-6 win over the Moose. The Cougars plated four first-inning runs during the win, and added a pair in the second.
Jarred Yanez and Cody Grogan drove in two runs each for the Moose. Yanez and Ryan Kavolok added two runs each.
Wednesday, South Anchorage bounced Palmer 9-1. Skyler Hale scored the lone run for Palmer.
Eagle River held on to grab a 7-5 nonconference win over Colony Monday.
The Wolves, sparked by five runs in the second, jumped to an early 7-0 lead. Colony scored five unanswered, but the rally was stopped short.
Colony’s Cooper Smith finished 3 for 4, with a run and an RBI in the loss. Cole Doss and Joseph Ryan also drove in runs for Colony. Kolten Ketchum and Cooper McLaughin scored runs for the Knights.
