Warriors boys win, tie; WHS girls split

SOLDOTNA — Grig Lozko and Carson Dodd came up big for the Wasilla boys soccer squad during a weekend trip to the Kenai Peninsula.

Friday, Lozko scored twice and Dodd added a goal as Wasilla played to a 3-3 tie with Homer. Saturday, Lozko and Dodd each found the back of the net to lead Wasilla to a 2-0 win over Soldotna.

Wasilla is 2-0-2 in Northern Lights Conference play.

The action came on the heels of Wasilla’s 4-2 nonconference win over Chugiak Thursday night. Diego Chavez scored twice for the Warriors. Lozko and Colton Fletcher added goals.

Wasilla girls split

HOMER — Alex Starr netted the hat trick to lead Wasilla to a 6-1 win over Homer Friday night.

Jodie Richey, Teyonnah Williams and Daija Doughty also scored in the win. Homer registered its lone goal in the 75th minute, converting a penalty kick.

Saturday, defending NLC champion Soldotna beat Wasilla 5-2. Ally Hull scored both goals for WHS.

Lathrop sweeps

PALMER — The Lathrop Malemutes swept Palmer in a pair of matches at Palmer High Friday.

The LHS girls opened with a 7-0 win over Palmer. The Malemutes boys followed with 2-0 victory.
