The Wasilla Warriors enjoyed a solid start to the prep baseball season finishing 3-1 in the Kodiak baseball tournament.
Wasilla won its first three games of 2026, beating Monroe Catholic 15-1, Sitka 14-10 and host Kodiak 11-2. South Anchorage got past the Warriors 12-7.
Bridger Berta drove in five runs and Chase Sivulich added four RBI during the win over Monroe. Brice Kennedy had four RBI against Sitka. Seven other Warriors also drove in a run. Sivulich added two hits and three RBI against Kodiak.
South jumped to a 6-0 lead over Wasilla in the second inning and added another six in the fifth.
Colony also played in the Kodiak tourney and finished 0-3-1. The Knights played to a 7-7 tie with Monroe. Cody Otto and Landon Sherrer scored two runs each. The Knights also suffered losses to Kodiak (10-7), South (7-2) and Sitka (7-0).
Palmer opened its season with an 11-1 win over Redington Monday night. Reed Craner scored four runs for the Moose. Tristan Barrey drove in three.
Braiden Greene scored Redington’s lone run.
Houston is off to a 1-1-1 start after three games at the Bartlett tournament. After dropping a 17-5 loss to the host Golden Bears, the Hawks tied Homer 5-5 and edged Redington 6-5.
Ty Sonnentag scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh for the Hawks to give his team the win over the Huskies. Sebastian Sanford scored earlier in the inning to tie the game at 5. Sonnentag led Houston with a hit and three runs.
Ikaia Flores led Redington with two RBI.
Houston scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to help force the tie with the Mariners. Sanford scored on a passed ball and Cleto Brito scored the game-tying run on a ground out.
