Defending state champion Wasilla finished as the runner-up in the Chugiak Invitational, the first big event of the Alaska prep volleyball season.
Dimond, which finished third in the Division I state tourney last season, swept the Warriors 2-0 in the best-of-3 Chugiak final. The Warriors beat East Anchorage 3-0 in the 2023 Division I final.
Palmer finished tied for third and Colony tied for fifth in the final bracket Saturday. Wasilla beat Palmer 2-0 to advance to the final, and the Moose edged Colony 2-1 on the top side of the bracket.
Wasilla and Dimond both finished 10-1 in pool play. Colony was 7-4 and Palmer was 6-5.
