The season just has not gotten any easier for the Wasilla Warriors.
Lathrop dropped Wasilla 40-13 in Fairbanks on Friday and Wasilla dropped to 0-3 in conference play in the process.
The loss eliminated the Warriors from the playoff race.
Lathrop quarterback Brock Graziadi completed 12 of 16 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Malemutes to the win.
Lathrop (2-1, 4-2) is not only in position to win a playoff spot, but score a top seed in the postseason
bracket.
The Malemutes face Colony in Palmer next week.
Jake Wade scored for the Warriors on a 57-yard touchdown run with 10:16 left in the fourth quarter to spoil Lathrop's shutout bid.
Wade rushed for a game-high 158 yards in the game.
Wade's brother Jed added a touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.
Eielson 36, Houston 6
The Houston Hawks fell to 2-3 in the Greatland Conference and 2-4 overall after a 36-6 loss to Eielson on Eielson Air Force Base
on Saturday.
The Ravens scored four times in the first half to fly to a quick lead over the Hawks.
Chad Odem and Nick Rogers combined for three touchdown runs and Evan Skinner had a touchdown pass in the first half.
Taylor Richey scored the lone touchdown for Houston.
The Hawk quarterback reached the end zone on a 1-yard plunge.
Richey led Houston with 95 yards rushing and 91 yards passing.
