Sayer Sanders scored a pair of goals to lead the Wasilla Warriors to a 3-0 prep hockey win over South Anchorage Nov. 5 at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla.
Sanders used an unassisted goal early in the second to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead, and added a power play goal early in the third. Mason Holler also scored.
Wasilla outshot the Wolverines 30-28 in the win. Wasilla netminer earned the 28-save shutout.
Earlier in the week, Houston’s Andrey Reutov used a hat trick to lead the defending Division II state champions to a 4-2 win over Wasilla. Reutov scored two of his three goals in the third period. Daniel Matveev also scored.
Easton McRae and Branson Starheim scored for Wasilla.
Colony scored a 3-2 win over Palmer on Nov. 5. Joseph Kirk scored twice for Colony, and Isaac McKenzie added a goal. Xander Logan and Kiran Greco scored for Palmer.
