WASILLA — The Wasilla Warriors girls’ and boys’ basketball squads hit the floor Wednesday for the annual Doc Larson Roundball Classic.
The 2017 edition of the holiday hoops tournament hosted each year by Wasilla High features a half-dozen boys’ teams and four girls squad. Service, South Anchorage, Bartlett, Barrow and Ketchikan join host Wasilla in the boys’ field. The girls’ field features Wasilla, East, Barrow and Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth, California.
The tourney, which tipped off Tuesday, continues Wednesday the East girls meeting Sierra Canyon at 3 p.m. The Service boys face rival South at 4:30 p.m. The Wasilla girls host Barrow at 6 p.m. The Wasilla boys cap the night against Ketchikan at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, the Barrow girls facing Sierra Canyon at 3 p.m. The Barrow boys follow against Service at 4:30 p.m. The Wasilla girls host East Anchorage at 6 p.m.
In girls’ action Friday, East plays Barrow at 3 p.m. and Sierra Canyon faces Wasilla at 6 p.m. The boys games are to be determined, based on the results of the first three days of the tournament. A pair of consolation games are slated for 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and the championship game is at 7:30 p.m.
