The Wasilla Warriors and Colony Knights each won a pair of games during a weekend of prep baseball in Kodiak.
Wasilla finished 2-1 in three games. The Warriors beat North Pole 5-3 and host Kodiak 17-1, and dropped an 11-0 loss to South Anchorage.
Whalen Halverson drove in two and scored a run during the win over North Pole. Five different Warriors scored runs. Ramon Guzman earned the win on the mound.
Wasilla erupted for 17 runs in the first two innings of the win over Kodiak. Lalo Palomares drove in five runs. Nate Nickelson and Aiden Perez had three RBI each.
Colony was 2-3 in Kodiak.
The Knights opened their season with a 20-3 win over the host Bears, and added a 13-0 victory over North Pole. Colony suffered three losses to South teams. The South varsity beat the Knights 10-7 and 8-4, and the South Open squad got past Colony 13-10.
Brayden Parent and Jaren Venie drove on five runs each during Colony’s win over Kodiak. Jackson Sommer added three RBI. Ten different Knights scored at least one run. Parent and Venie scored three runs each.
Bohman Marks was 2 for 3 with two runs and four RBI against North Pole.
