WASILLA — The Wasilla Warriors posted a soccer sweep of Homer Friday night at Wasilla High School.
Alia Donley recorded a pair of unassisted second-half goals to lead Wasilla to a 3-0 girls’ win over Homer. Abby Crawford scored in the first half, with an assist from Alexis Friesen, to give the Warriors the early lead.
Olivia Matson recorded the shutout in the Wasilla net.
In the boys match Wasilla blanked Homer 2-0.
Wasilla also recorded a 4-1 Northern Lights Conference girls’ win over Grace Christian Thursday in Anchorage.
Crawford and Daija Doughty scored during the first half for Wasilla. Donley and Friesen added goals in the second.
Thomas Youngblood netted a hat trick to lead the Palmer boys to a 6-1 win over Seward Thursday at Palmer High.
The Palmer girls also beat the Seahawks 6-1.
Gurpreet Kaur scored three times. Tiana Lee, Haley Hanson and Sandena McMaster also scored for Palmer. Seward scored its goal about 10 minutes into the second half.
