The Wasilla Warriors can call their win over a rival Tuesday night a team effort.
Five different players scored during Wasilla’s 5-1 victory over Palmer at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena.
Four of those goals were unanswered. Richard Strick gave the Warriors the eventual game-winner with a dozen minutes left in the second period. Strick’s goal came just more than a minute after Palmer’s Parker Popowski knotted the game at 1, with his team’s lone goal of the game.
Branson Hagel and Easton Styers added second-period goals for the Warriors. Dylan Mead rounded out the scoring for Wasilla with a power play goal in the third.
Chase Malstrom also scored with the man advantage in the first for Wasilla.
Elijah Barcelona led Wasilla with three assists.
Wasilla outshot the Moose 40-18. Braeden Willis made 17 saves during the Warriors win.
Wasilla also skated to a 5-2 win over Dimond on Saturday in Anchorage.
Gavin Blaylock led Wasilla with a pair of goals. Mead, Brecken Styers and Robert Mikulecky also scored.
In other action, Houston edged Colony 3-2. Owen Hunter, Andrey Efimov and Trenton Huber scored for the Hawks.
